PINKY'S REPAIR SHOP IS OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! PLEASE CONTACT US TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.
Ragne "Pinky" Smith has been a professional furniture maker and upholsterer since 2012, designing and building on custom-made furniture for clients all over the world.
Now at Asher Alley, creating “functional furniture art” to fill her artistic soul. The Dallas-Fort Worth resident is known for incorporating innovative techniques like fabric printing and decorative painting into her work, as well as other creative methods to create one of a kind pieces of furniture art.
Ragne's background is as colorful as she is. Having been born in the former Soviet Union, she's known from early age how to make "something out of nothing". Her curiosity, imaginative mind and "Can Do!" attitude has provided her with experience from woodworking to sewing bridesmaids dresses hours before the event, from running a print house to teaching herself centuries-old Japanese art of repairing broken pottery (Kitsungi).
Currently residing in Arlington, TX she often needs to explain "Yet another project..." to her loving husband while feeling extreme pride when her daughters say: "My mom can fix it! She can build it!". She is active member of her community, PTA board member and enthusiastic promoter of skilled trades.
Ragne is a seasoned workshop instructor, has been a administrator for the Professional Upholsterer’s Network for seven years, and served as the strategic planning co-chair for National Upholstery Association.
